Emerging from the sunshine of Southern California, Switchfoot has become an icon for Christians, inspired musicians, and guitarists alike. These native San Diego surfers named their band after a surfing term (which means switching of stance on the surfboard to face the opposite direction). From their formation in 1996, Switchfoot has had songs appear in movies including A Walk To Remember, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Reflecting their own personal influences from artists such as U2, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the Dave Matthews Band, Switchfoot pours out their hearts with their alternative rock, almost-grunge style. This faith based rock, accompanied by the occasional melodic ballad, has lead them to record and produce a total of 7 albums, such as Oh! Gravity, Hello Hurricane, and The Best Yet.
"Crooked soul tryin' to stay up straight, dry eyes in the pourin' rain, well, the shadow
proves the sunshine."
